    Abstract
    Introduction. One of the widespread public health problems that constitutes human rights violations is violence against women. The most common type of violence is rape, which involves acts of coercion, sexual contact, physical violence, and/or threats. Rape cases that often occur in society will cause health problems and other negative impacts for rape victims. Objective. To discover the characteristics of the alleged rape victim and VeR’s results at the Bhayangkara TK II Hospital Medan period 2020—2021. Method. This research was a retrospective descriptive in the form of a cross-sectional study using secondary data. Data was obtained from VeR of alleged rape cases made in Bhayangkara TK II Hospital Medan from January 2020 to December 2021 with a total of 150 cases studied. Results and Discussion. It was found that the most patients were in the age range 12—16 years (46%), occupation of the most patients were student (70%), the location of the patient's injury were found in the genitals (100%), most common type of wound found in patient’s genital were laceration wounds (82%), the most hymen condition were teared hymen (85.3%), the highest number of hymen tears was more than one tear (82.7%), most of the patients were found to be non-pregnant (87.3%), all of the examiners are doctors with qualifications specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology (100%), most requests are filed by the resort police located in Medan City (76.7%). Conclusion. Most of the alleged rape victims were 12—16 years old (46%) and students (70%). Injuries predominantly involve the genitals (100%) in the form of laceration wounds (82%) and hymen tears (85.3%) and most victims are not pregnant (87.3%). VeR is entirely carried out by Obstetrics and Gynecology specialists (100%) and the majority of requests are made from the resort police in Medan City (76.7%).
