Background. Contrast Induced-Acute Kidney Injury (CI-AKI) is a serious
complication caused by Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI). CI-AKI is
associated with an increased risk of myocardial infarction and dialysis.
Objective. This study aims to determine the characteristics of CI-AKI patients
after undergoing PCI at H. Adam Malik Hospital Medan in 2022. Method. This
research uses a descriptive method with a cross sectional design using a total
sampling method.Results. A total of 186 patients underwent PCI at H. Adam
Malik Hospital Medan in 2022. The incidence of CI-AKI in patients undergoing
PCI at H. Adam Malik Hospital Medan in 2022 was 81 patients (43.5%). Most of
the patients experienced Acute Kidney Injury at stage I, 68 patients (84%). Risk
factors related to CI-AKI are history of DM, 53 patients (28%), 59 patients (32%)
history of hypertension, and the number of contrast > 100 ml in 47 patients
(25%). Conclusion. The incidence of Contrast-Induced Acute Kidney Injury (CIAKI)
among patients undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) at H.
Adam Malik General Hospital in Medan in 2022 was 81 cases, with the majority
classified as stage I, totaling 68 patients, and the associated risk factors are a
history of diabetes mellitus (DM), a history of hypertension, and the amount of
contrast.
