This study aims to determine the effect of using red dragon fruit
(hyclocereus polyrhizus) peel extract in drinking water on broiler chicken carcass
quality. This research was carried out at Martabe Farm, Durin Simbelang, Pancur
Batu District and the Pharmaceutical Phytochemical Laboratory, University of
North Sumatra. This research was carried out experimentally using a completely
randomized plan (RAL). A total of 100 DOC will be randomized into 20 pen stage
plots consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications. Each replication consisted of 5
broiler chickens. The treatment is as follows P0 (500 ml drinking water without
dragon fruit peel extract), P1 (7.5% in 500 ml drinking water), P2 (15% in 500 ml
drinking water), P3 (22.5 % in 500 ml drinking water)
The results of the research showed that the treatment had a very real
influence on final body weight, carcass weight and carcass percentage. Based on
the research results, it can be concluded that administering 7.5% of red dragon
fruit peel extract (Hyclocereus polyrhizus) in drinking water gives the best results
on final body weight, carcass weight and carcass percentage in broiler chickens
