Background. Triple elimination test is a government program to reduce the rate of
mother-to-child transmission of infections. The infectious agents that can be
transmitted are HIV, hepatitis B, and syphilis and these three infectious agents have
a synergistic effect. Aim. Knowing the percentage of triple elimination test and the
relationship between age, gestational age, parity, and gravida to triple elimination
test. Methods. The study was retrospective analytic with a cross sectional approach.
Sampling using medical records and samples determined using total sampling
technique. Results. The prevalence of infected mothers was found to be 1 person
(0.8%) infected with hepatitis B and 3 people (2.5%) infected with syphilis. A
significant relationship was found between maternal gestational age and triple
elimination screening (p-value <0.001), and parity and triple elimination screening
(p-value 0.017). An insignificant relationship was found between maternal age and
triple elimination screening (p-value 0.105), and gravida and triple elimination
screening (p-value 0.111). Conclusion. Patients with hepatitis B and syphilis are
still found at Puskesmas Padang Bulan Medan. Factors such as maternal
gestational age and maternal parity status were found to have a significant
association with triple elimination testing at Puskesmas Padang Bulan Medan.
