Gambaran Perilaku Staf dan Siswa terhadap Orang dengan Epilepsi di SMA Unggul Del, Kabupaten Toba, Provinsi Sumatera Utara
Abstract
Background. Epilepsy is a chronic disease characterized by recurrent seizures, which are brief episodes of involuntary movements. The views inherent in society regarding epilepsy have a major influence on the quality of life of people with epilepsy. Objective. To determine the description of staff and student behavior towards people with epilepsy. Method. This research is a descriptive study using a cross-sectional design. Data collection was carried out using a simple random sampling technique using a questionnaire. The research subjects were 198 staff and students at Sekolah Menengah Atas Unggul Del. Results and Discussion. The majority of respondents were male (56.1%), early teenage age group (64.4%), last education was primary education (85.4%), Batak ethnic (92.9%), unmarried (83.3%). %), and economic status without income (68.2%). A total of 42.4% of respondents had good knowledge about epilepsy, 90.9% of respondents had a positive attitude, and 75.3% of respondents had positive actions towards people with epilepsy. Conclusion. Staff and students at Sekolah Menengah Atas Unggul Del have a enough level of knowledge about epilepsy, positive attitudes and positive actions towards people with epilepsy.
