Isolation and identification of flavonoid compound from stem bark of kimerah (Flueggea virosa (Roxb. ex Willd.) Royle) have been carried out by maceration extraction using methanol as a solvent. The concentrated methanol extract was re-extracted using ethyl acetate. The ethyl acetate extract was concentrated and redissolved with methanol and then partitioned with n-hexane. The concentrated methanol extract was separated by column chromatography with a stationary phase of silica gel and a mobile phase of chloroform : methanol (90:10; 80:20; 70:30; 60:40) v/v. respectively. The compound obtained from fraction 105-190 was purified by preparative thin layer chromatography and produced 5.3 mg brownish yellow amorphous solid with an Rf value of 0.44 with chloroform : methanol (80:20) v/v. The compound obtained was analyzed using UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Infrared Spectrophotometer (FT-IR), and Proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrophotometer (¹H-NMR). Spectroscopic data shows that the isolated compound allegedly is a flavanone group.en_US
