Analisis Potensi Pengembangan Ternak Sapi Potong di Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai Provinsi Sumatera Utara

Abstract

This research was conducted to analyze the availability of resources owned by the Serdang Bedagai district in the context of developing beef cattle. This research was conducted in Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra Province, starting from March - April 2023. This research used a survey method. The first stage carried out Stratification (stratified sampling) of all sub-districts in Serdang Bedagai Regency, namely dividing into three sub-district groups with high beef cattle populations, medium and low, the second stage took purposively (purposive sampling) in the three sub-district groups that had been divided in the first stage. The results of this study show that livestock resources in Serdang Bedagai Regency still have great potential in developing beef cattle business in terms of genetic resources, human resources, natural resources, feed carrying capacity and livestock maintenance.
