Soil conservation, such as knowing the distribution of water in the soil, is an effort to prevent erosion and improve the soil. Therefore, the aim of this research is to examine the distribution of water in Latosol soil with and without soil cover, and to determine the efficiency of this soil cover for the soil. Greenhouse scale research used a 2 factorial completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replications for each treatment. The parameters observed included the average value of soil texture, soil organic matter, soil mass density, soil particle density, porosity, field capacity water content, evaporation (amount of water loss), and volumetric water content. The results showed that Latosol soil had a textured Loamy sand contains 3.46% organic matter in the medium category. The lowest diffusivity occurred without mulch with a total diffusivity of 1.63 ......en_US
