Analisis Determinan Pemilihan Metode Kontrasepsi pada Akseptor Keluarga Berencana di Unit Pelaksana Teknis Puskesmas Medan Johor Kecamatan Medan Johor Kota Medan

Abstract

Background. One of the efforts to reduce maternal mortality is the family planning program. Many factors influence the selection of contraceptive methods. Objective. This study aims to determine the determinants of contraceptive method selection among family planning acceptors at UPT Puskesmas Johor, Medan Johor District, Medan City. Methods. This study was an analytic study with a cross-sectional design and used primary data from filling out questionnaires. The analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis with chi-square. Results. Of the 127 respondents, the majority of respondents chose long-term contraceptive methods (59.8%), age at risk (59.1%), parity at risk (52.0%), high education level (78.0%), not working (47.5%), less income (59.8%), source of information from health workers (76.4%), husband support (83.5%), and use health insurance (59.1%). Factors that have a relationship with the selection of contraceptive methods in family planning acceptors at UPT Puskesmas Medan Johor are the reasons for using contraception (p=0.003), age (p=0.048), parity (p=0.004) and health insurance (p=0.005). Conclusion. Determinant factors associated with contraceptive selection are reasons for using contraception, age, parity and health insurance
