dc.description.abstract | The Babura River Watershed is part of the Deli River Watershed which covers the
Deli Serdang Regency and Medan City with an area of 4921.88 ha. The upstream
area is an agricultural area, in the middle and downstream there are industrial areas
and open areas. As time goes by, this river becomes increasingly polluted, meaning
the water quality in this river decreases. In an effort to determine the quality status
of water quality in this river, it can be assessed using the pollution index method,
the CCME method and the NSF-WQI method. The aim of this research is to
determine the spatial status of water quality in the Babura River. This research uses
descriptive quantitative where the author will explain and conclude data in the form
of numbers. The method used in determining research stations is purposive
sampling, namely by selecting 15 research points based on the Babura river flow.
Physical chemical and biological water parameters were also measured in the form
of temperature, brightness, depth, current speed, TSS, turbidity, pH, DO, nitrate,
phosphate, BOD and total coliform. The results of the research show that based on
the physical, chemical and biological characteristics of the babura subgai it is still
within normal limits for the life of aquatic biota, except for the phosphate
parameters which exceed the quality standards. If based on the Pollution Index
method the pollution status is light, according to the NSF-WQI method the pollution
status is poor - moderate and according to the CCME method the pollution status is
poor - fair. | en_US |
