This research examines personality analysis of the main character. The purpose of this thesis is to find out the personality aspects of the id, ego, super-ego and the ego that cooperates with the id and the super-ego in making decisions by Kate as the main character in novel The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn. The method used in the research is descriptive qualitative. The data is obtained in the form of words, sentences, and discourses that contain elements of personality aspects. The data is analyzed by using a psychology approach with a focus on psychoanalysis personality theory by Sigmund Freud. The results of this study shows that the id drive makes Kate try to fulfill the libido's destructive desires and ignore the common sense. On the other hand, the super-ego appears when Kate tends to think about her sister rather than herself and it is the ego that mediates between these two aspects which deals with the reality. This research also found that the ego can cooperates with the id and super-ego in making decisions.en_US
