Translation Techniques in Translation of The Lyrics Bangtan Seonyeondan (BTS) Album Entitled “Permission To Dance”

The aim of this research is to identify types of translation techniques and find out how the translators apply the techniques to the Indonesian of Bangtan Seonyeondan (BTS) song album lyrics. This research uses qualitative descriptive method. Data collection is carried out using the documentation method from the “Insert Live” website. The total data is 3 songs consisting of 150 sentences. The theory of translation techniques proposed by Molina and Albir’s theory. The results of this research, there are 10 translation techniques used by the translator which shows that 55 (21.82%) literal translation, followed by 42 (16.66%) linguistic compression, 38 (15.07%) borrowing, 30 (11, 90%) reduction, 21 (8.33%) compensation, 18 (7.14%) linguistic amplification, 17 (6.74%) generalization, 16 (6.34%) adaptation, 12 (4.76%) modulation, and 3 (1.24%) transposition. In this study there are no find of 8 other translation techniques. Apart from that, translator also use a combination of translation techniques from single, double and triple techniques in one sentences of the data.
