Perbedaan Kejadian Leukosituria antara Penderita Penyakit Ginjal Kronis Stadium V dengan Diabetes Melitus dan Tanpa Diabetes Melitus

Abstract

Background. Leukocyturia is a marker of urinary tract infection or inflammation. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) and diabetes mellitus (DM) are diseases that cause changes in the integrity of the immune system, increasing the risk of irifections, including urinary tract infections. DM also causes several microvascular complications due to chronic inflammation, one of which is kidney inflammation. This is important because the occurrence of irifection and inflammation in patients with CKD with DM can increase morbidity and mortality. Objective. To compare the incidence of leukocyturia between patients with stage V chronic kidney disease (CKD) with DM and without DM Method. This study was an observational analytic study with a cross sectional design. The research samples were patients with stage V CKD at H Adam Malik Hospital Medan for the period January 2022 - June 2023. Sample data were obtained from the patient's medical record. The number of samples was 74 consisting of 34 case groups and 40 control groups. The analysis used was Chi-Square analysis. Results and Discussion. From the results of the Chi-Square test, the p-value < 0.001 and the Odds Ratio (OR) was 7. 08. Conclusion. There is a significant difference in the incidence of leukocyturia between patients with stage V CKD with DM and without DM Stage V CKD patients with a history of DM have a 7.08-fold chance of experiencing leukocyturia compared to patients without a history of DM
