Pengelolaan Pelayanan Asuhan Keperawatan pada Pasien Gout arthritis dengan Fokus Intervensi Kompres Hangat Jahe Merah untuk Menurunkan Tingkat Nyeri di Kelurahan Tegal Sari Mandala III Kecamatan Medan Denai

Abstract

Gout arthritis is a metabolic disorder characterized by hyperuricemia or increased uric acid levels of more than 7.0 mg/dl for men and 6.0 mg/dl for women. The main nursing problem in gout sufferers is acute pain. Treatment of gout pain sufferers is focused on how to control pain, reduce joint damage, and improve or maintain function and quality of life. Gout sufferers can choose 2 ways to reduce gout pain, namely pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. One nonpharmacological therapy that can be done is a warm red ginger compress. The purpose of this senior practicum is to provide nursing care to clients with gout, namely applying warm red ginger compresses to reduce the pain scale of gout. The results obtained were that there was a decrease in the gout pain scale after the intervention of red ginger warm compresses so that it could be concluded that red ginger warm compresses were effective in reducing the pain scale of people with gout in the Tegal Sari Mandala III sub-district, Medan Denai District.
