| dc.description.abstract | Breast cancer has become the global highest cancer incidence. Chemotherapy has been used by 75%
breast cancer patients as one of their cancer treatments. The objective of this research is to
investigate the experiences of breast cancer patients during the chemotherapy cycle treatment.
This qualitative research employs descriptive phenomenology method. Ten participants
are selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection method include in-depth
interviews, questionnaires, demographic data, interview guidance, field observation
notes, and sound recording. To analyze the data, the Colaizzi method, a thematic analysis
technique is carried out. The research findings fall into four categories: chemotherapy effect,
patient coping mechanism during chemotherapy, supporting factors during the
chemotherapy cycle, and obstacles encountered by patients during chemotherapy. It is also
discovered that breast cancer patients have various experiences during chemotherapy, which
affects the patients' decision to undergo the chemotherapy. It is expected that the hospital
improve things to support patients who are undergoing chemotherapy and to anticipate
patients who may wish to avoid chemotherapy. | en_US |
