Karakteristik Pasien-Pasien Cedera Kepala Rumah Sakit Umum Haji Adam Malik Medan Paska Era PPKM Covid 19 (Maret 2022- Mei 2023)
Abstract
Introduction. Data on the epidemiology of head injuries in Indonesia is generally not available. Data regarding head injury cases in Indonesia is incomplete, especially data for each region in Indonesia. Main cause of head injuries in most countries is traffic accidents. Objective. This study aims to determine the characteristics of head injury patients treated at the Haji Adam Malik General Hospital after the PPKM era of the Covid-19 pandemic. Method. This research is a descriptive-retrospective study using a cross-sectional design in collecting samples. The statistical test used to analyze research data is the univariate test or frequency distribution. Results. The most common characteristics of patients were men with 103 people (74.1%), teenagers with 64 people (46%), jobs highest number being students with 49 people (35.3%), highest level of secondary education 99 people (71.2%), majority were Muslim, amounting to 81 people (58.3%), highest etiology traffic accidents with 111 people (79.9%), outcome was mostly good recovery, amounting to 118 people (84.9%), with severity level of mild head injuries with 94 people (67.6%), conservative management with 75 people (54%), the highest length of stay was moderate with 55 people (39.6%), most complications were negative with 92 people (66.2%), highest prognosis dubia amounted to 116 people (83.5%) Conclusion. Thus, characteristics of head injury patients at the Haji Adam Malik General Hospital in Medan are mostly male and adolescent, mostly students, most have secondary education level, most are Muslims, most suffer from traffic accidents, most outcomes are good recovery, with highest level of severity is mild head injuries, most conservative management, most moderate length of stay, most negative complications, most dubious prognosis
