Abstract
Work culture ethos is an understanding of a system or set of values that have symbols, value orientations, beliefs, knowledge, and life experiences that are internalized into a person's attitudes, behavior and actions at work. This research aims to discuss the work culture ethos of the Chinese community in Sibolga City as a building material store trader. The research method used in this study is a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interview, and documentation. The results of the analysis in this study indicate that the work culture ethos owned by the Chinese community of Sibolga City as a building material store trader, namely discipline, honesty, responsibility, respect for time, frugal living, hard work, saving, and upholding relationships. The formation of work culture ethos is caused by several factors, namely cultural factors, religious factors, kinship factors, social environmental factors, and economic factors.
