    Abstract
Introduction. Typhoid fever is a digestive tract infection caused by Salmonella typhimurium. The treatment given is antibiotics. However, irrational use of antibiotics can cause resistance. So another alternative is needed by using herbal plants such as pirdot leaf extract (Saurauia vulcani K.) and lime peel (Citrus aurantifolia). Objective. Testing the effectiveness of a combination of pirdot leaf extract and lime peel as an antibacterial against Salmonella typhimurium. Method. This research is a laboratory experimental research using disc diffusion (in vitro) and a posttest only control group design. Antibacterial activity tests were carried out using a combination of pirdot leaves and lime peel with concentration ratios of 0%:100%, 25%:75%, 50%:50%, 75%:25%, 100%:0%, positive control ciprofloxacin 5 μg and negative control distilled water. Data analysis used the Kruskall-Wallis non-parametric statistical test. Results and Discussion. The results of measuring the inhibitory zone of the combination of pirdot leaf extract and lime peel on the growth of Salmonella typhimurium show that the concentration ratios of 0%:100%, 25%:75%, 50%:50%, 75%:25% produce inhibitory zones respectively. also 11.5 mm, 10.01 mm, 8.75 mm, and 6.85 mm. In a ratio of 100%:0% it is not effective because pirdot leaves are unable to provide an inhibition zone for Salmonella typhimurium bacteria in vitro. The positive control using ciprofloxacin produced an average inhibition zone of 41.02 mm, and the negative control using sterile distilled water did not produce an inhibition zone. The results of the Kruskall-Wallis test showed a significant p-value of 0.00, indicating a significant p-value (<0.05), which means there is a significant difference in the average value of each treatment group. Conclusion. The combination of pirdot leaf extract and lime peel has antibacterial activity and its effectiveness is demonstrated by lime peel extract.
