    Abstract
Foot and mouth disease (FMD) is an acute and highly contagious viral infectious disease in animals with even/split hooves and some wild animals. The most important factor in controlling FMD is vaccination. The disadvantages of using the FMD vaccine currently are that it has low immunogenicity, short duration of immunity, and thermolability so there is a need for an immunomodulator to increase the immune response by the FMD vaccine. This study aims to determine the effect of giving Curcuma longa L. on antibody titers and body weight of sheep on day 30 and day 60 after vaccination against foot and mouth disease. The experimental design used in the research was a non-factorial randomized block design using 24 local male sheep aged 2-3 years, divided into 4 groups (1 control, 3 treatments) with each treatment repeated 6 times. The treatment group was given Curcuma longa L. orally to each sheep at 100mg/day/head, 200mg/day/head, and 300mg/day/head for 15 days and the control group was not given Curcuma longa L. The results of the study showed that there were significant differences (P < 0.05) between antibody titers before and after administration of Curcuma longa L. post-vaccination after 30 days and 60 days. There was a significant difference (P < 0.05) in the body weight of sheep before and after administration of Curcuma longa L. post-vaccination after 30 days and 60 days. Antibody titers and increased body weight were higher in the P3 group (Vaccine + Curcuma longa L. 300mg).
