Background
CO and hemoglobin bonds will be released through the expiratory route, so this
can be measured with a portable CO meter such as a smokelyzer. Patients
abstained from smoking for 12 hours then smoked using e-cigarettes, in this study
found a gradual increase in exhaled CO levels during e-cigarette use.
Method
This study took samples of research subjects using two groups where each group
numbered 70 students, these groups were entered according to the inclusion and
exclusion criteria, with the statistical test used in the form of an independent Ttest.
Results
The age of 17 years is the age that uses the most electric cigarettes and tobacco
cigarettes, more men than women. There is a difference in the value of increasing
CO levels in e-cigarettes and tobacco cigarettes (p 0.007), where the increase in
CO levels in tobacco cigarettes is higher than in e-cigarettes with an average
increase value of 2.86.
Conclusion
A not too significant increase occurred in electric cigarettes because the device
used used atomization in the fourth generation electric cigarette generator.
