Karakteritsik Cosplay pada Komunitas Medan Anime Club

Abstract

This research discusses the characteristics of cosplay within the Medan Anime Club community. Through this study, the researcher will explore how the history of the Medan Anime Club community has sustained itself until now. Apart from its history, the characteristics of cosplay exhibited by cosplayers within this community will also be examined. The research methodology employed includes interviews and literature studies. Interviews were conducted with the Medan Anime Club community's leader, asking specific questions. Additionally, brief inquiries were directed to cosplayers within the Medan Anime Club community. The theoretical framework utilized encompasses group sociology and pop culture. Interview findings revealed that the Medan Anime Club community frequently collaborates as a media partner for Japanese-themed events in Medan. Membership in the Medan Anime Club community increases annually. The community comprises numerous cosplayers, with many of them emerging as winners in cosplay competitions during events.
