Background. Seizures, choking, and poisoning are common causes of emergencies in pediatric practice. Parental knowledge is one of the predisposing factors that influence the incidence of seizures, choking and poisoning in children due to the need for rapid first treatment and appropriate early detection. Objective. To determine the level of knowledge of parents in the Patumbak Community Health Center working area regarding the first treatment of children with seizures, choking and poisoning. Methods. This research is a type of quasi-experimental research, which is observational with a one-group pre and post-test design method. The sampling method used was consecutive sampling. Results. The research results were obtained from 56 people who met the inclusion criteria. From the questionnaire filled out before the counseling was carried out, 38 people (67.9%) had good knowledge results, 15 people (26.8%) had moderate knowledge, and 3 people (5.3%) had poor knowledge. Meanwhile, after counseling, 56 people (100%) obtained good knowledge results. Conclusion. The level of parental knowledge in the Patumbak Community Health Center Area is in the good category and there has been an increase in parental knowledge after being given counseling.
