Tingkat Pengetahuan tentang Penyakit Infeksi Menular Seksual dan Pencegahannya pada Siswa Kelas 3 SMA Negeri 2 Bengkulu Selatan 2023
Abstract
Introduction. Sexually transmitted infections have a significant impact on sexual and reproductive health in all countries of the world. More than one million sexually transmitted diseases are acquired every day. By 2020, there will be 374 million disease transmissions, 1 in 4 of which will be sexually transmitted diseases: chlamydia (129,000,000), gonorrhea (82,000,000), syphilis (7,100,000) and trichomoniasis (156,000,000). An estimated >490 million people had genital herpes in 2016, and about 300 million women had HPV infection. The most important strategy in controlling STDs is to increase knowledge about STD symptoms, how to prevent STDs and where to get STD information. Objective. To determine the level of knowledge of 3rd grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Bengkulu Selatan about sexually transmitted infections and their prevention. Methods. This study used descriptive observational research design with pre-post test approach. The research sample was 3rd grade students of SMA Negeri 2 in 2023 who met the research inclusion criteria totaling 168 people. Data collection used questionnaires distributed to 3rd grade students before counseling and after counseling on STIs. Data presentation was done univariate with frequency distribution table. Results and Discussion. From the study it can be seen that the average age is 16.9 years and more than half of the respondents (60.1%) are female, respondents' knowledge about STIs and their prevention before the intervention was more than half (58.9%) in the good category and after the intervention most (71.4%) in the good category. Conclusion. There was an increase in knowledge with good category after counseling intervention.
