Introduction. Traumatic head injury is one of the most common contributors to death and disability in productive age, especially in developing countries with 11.9% of cases in Indonesia. Vertigo is a symptom of vestibular disorders characterized by a sensation of movement, particularly as a sense of spinning around. Vertigo can occur in about 55% of head injury cases, mainly mild to moderate head injuries. Objective. This study aims to determine the relationship between head injury and vertigo at Haji Adam Malik Hospital Medan. Method. This research method uses observational analytics with a cross-sectional design. The data collected from medical records are all head injury patients at HajiAdam Malik Hospital Medan for the 2020-2022 period and have met the criteria for inclusion and exclusion. The data was then statistically analyzed with the Chi Square test. Results and Discussion. The majority of head injury patients were male (69.2%), aged 18-30 years (43.8%), diffuse brain injury type (25.4%), and mild head injury (61.5%). The Chi Square test results show the p value = 0.023 and correlation coefficient r = 0, 113. Conclusion. There was an association between head injury and the occurrence of vertigo (p< 0. 05) with very low positive correlation level (0, 00 -:::r-:::0,199).en_US
