Background. Since dengue hemorrhagic fever can cause liver damage, aminotransferase levels as liver function test may be useful in predicting the severity of dengue hemorrhagic fever. Aim. To determine the relationship of transaminase enzyme levels with dengue hemorrhagic fever severity. Methods. This research use an analytical observational approach with cross-sectional design. The data used is secondary, medical record of H. Adam Malik Hospital and Prof. dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Universitas Sumatera Utara Hospital. Results. From a total of 65 inclusion records, 56.9% (37 records) had elevated SGPT levels and 92.3% (60 records) had elevated SGOT levels, there was no relationship between SGPT and SGOT elevatisons and dengue fever severity (SGPT p=0.628 and SGOT p=1.00). Conclusion. There is no association between the elevations of transaminase enzyme levels and the severity of DHF.
