dc.description.abstract | Introduction. Mental health is a mental state of an individual that enables people to
cope with life's challenges. One of the factors that can influence mental well-being is
having good physical fitness. Physical fitness is a set of attributes possessed or
achieved by an individual related to the ability to perform physical activities. Several
studies indicate that the level of physical fitness can affect an individual's mental
health. Objective. The aim of this research is to analyze the relationship between the
level of physical fitness and mental health. Method. This research uses a crosssectional
research design which was conducted in October 2023. The study involves
88 respondents. Data collection methods include using the Harvard Step Test for
cardiorespiratory endurance measurement, handgrip dynamometer for muscle
strength measurement, counting the maximum number of push-ups for muscle
endurance measurement, sit and reach test for flexibility measurement, BMI
calculation for body composition measurement, and filling out the MHQ-SF
questionnaire for mental health measurement. Results and Discussion. Data were
analyzed using the Kruskal Wallis test, with the result showing no significant
relationship between the level of physical fitness and mental health. Conclusion.
There is no significant relationship between the level of physical fitness and mental
