Hubungan Siklus Pengobatan Medikamentosa dengan Keberhasilan Penutupan Patent Ductus Arteriosus pada Bayi Prematur
Abstract
Background. Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) is a disease that is often found in
premature babies which is characterized by failure or delay in the closure of the Ductus
Arteriosus (DA). PDA often occurs in babies born prematurely which is caused by high
levels of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) due to incomplete ductus and lung function. This
condition can disrupt hemodynamics so it needs to be closed. Closure can be done by
using cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor drugs, such as Indomethacin and Ibuprofen.
Apart from that, paracetamol can also be used as an alternative to trigger closure of
the PDA. Objective. To determine the relationship between medical treatment cycle and
the success of Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) closure in premature babies. Method.
The research was conducted using an observational retrospective analytical method
using a cross-sectional design. The sampling technique in this research was total
sampling. The sample obtained was 24 people, which was secondary data in the form
of medical records obtained at the medical records installation of RSUP Haji Adam
Malik Medan and RSIA Stella Maris Medan. All data was then processed and analyzed
and statistical tests were carried out in the form of Spearman correlation tests with the
SPSS application. Results and Discussion. The results of this study using the Spearman
correlation test showed a significance value of p = 0.001 (p<0.05) in the relationship
between length of treatment and treatment success and a significance value of p =
<0.001 (p<0.05) in the treatment cycle and treatment success. Conclusion. There was
no relationship between the treatment cycle with the success of the treatment.
