Hubungan Penggunaan Cotton Bud terhadap Kejadian Otitis Eksterna

Abstract

Introduction: The use of Cottonbuds is of concern because there are many complaints about the ears, one of these complaints is Otitis Externa which interferes with the sufferer's quality of life. Aim: To determine the relationship between the use of cotton buds and the incidence of otitis externa. Method: This research is an analytical research with a cross sectional design using a total sampling technique for patients who came to the ENT polyclinic at USU Hospital from August to October 2023. Data collection in this study used interviews with patients. Results: Of the 196 samples from this study, based on bivariate chi-square analysis, there was a relationship between history of using Cottonbud and the incidence of Otitis External (p=0.001). Conclusion: It was concluded that there was a relationship between history of using Cottonbud and the incidence of Otitis External.
