Introduction. Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) are nematode worms that are
transmitted through soil and are a community problem. These worms are
transmitted through hands contaminated with soil, especially in children who like
to play in the ground and do not wash their hands properly. Objective. To determine
the relationship between the level of knowledge on hand washing and incidence
STH infection in students of SD N 067240. Methods. This study was conducted with
a cross seictional method of 62 elementary school students then analyzed with the
Chi Square test calculated p values, Odds Ratios and 95% Confidence Interval. To
determine the meaning of the results of statistical calculations, the value of p
<0.005 was used. Results. There is a relationship between the level of knowledge
and STH infection with a p value of 0.004. Conclusion. There is a significant
relationship between the level of knowledge about hand washing and STH infection
in students of SD N 067240, with a p value of 0.004.
