Tooth extraction is a surgical procedure performed by a dentist. Tooth extraction itself can cause injury to the socket, which causes the wound healing process to occur. However, there are many factors that affect the wound healing process that may cause wound healing not to occur perfectly. Snakehead fish (Channa striata) is one of the fish known to the public as a fish that can accelerate wound healing. This is because snakehead fish contains high albumin and functions in inducing collagen and tissue regeneration, snakehead fish also contains many minerals and unsaturated fatty acids which can also affect wound healing. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of snakehead fish extract orally at doses of 50 mg / kg body weight and 100 mg / kg body weight on fibroblast cell proliferation in wound healing fitting socket tooth extraction using 30 wistar strain rats and divided into three groups. The first group will be given snakehead fish extract at a dose of 50 mg / kg body weight and group two will be given snakehead fish extract at a dose of 100 mg / kg body weight and the third group will be given a placebo as a negative control and will be tested using hematoxylin-eosin (HE) and residual socket volume on days 7 and 14. Based on the results of t-independent and mann-whitney tests showed that snakehead fish extract at a dose of 100 mg / kg body weight was effective against fibroblast proliferation in wound healing after tooth extraction.en_US
