Efek Pengolesan Beberapa Konsentrasi Gel Ekstrak Buah Stroberi (Fragaria X Ananassa) Terhadap Perubahan Warna Enamel Gigi Premolar (In Vitro)
Effects Application of Several Concentrations Strawberry Fruit Extract Gel (Fragaria x ananassa) on Colour Changes in Premolar Tooth Enamel (In vitro)
Abstract
Tooth discoloration affects a person's aesthetics and confidence level and have a Discoloration of teeth to become more yellow affects a person's aesthetics and confidence level and have negative impact on dental health. Strawberry fruit is an alternative that has malic acid and ellagic acid which can whiten teeth. The aim is to determine the value of changes and differences in tooth color before and after applying Strawberry fruit extract gel to premolar tooth enamel at concentrations of 60%, 40%, 20%. The method of making Strawberry fruit extract gel using maceration extraction method. The application was done on the entire tooth surface and then stored in an incubator at 37°C. Repetition of the application was done the next day at the same hour for up to 14 days. Experimental laboratory design with pre and post test group design. Analysis of differences in color change values in sample groups used ANOVA test and LSD method to find significant differences between treatment groups. The results of the mean change in tooth color of Strawberry fruit extract at 60% concentration is 0.555, 40% concentration is 0.354, 20% concentration is 0.206 where the value is smaller than Carbamide Peroxide 10% which is 1.18 and greater than the gel base which is 0.07. There was a significant difference in the color of premolars from Strawberry fruit extract gel and 10% carbamide peroxide compared to the gel base. Conclusion: Strawberry fruit extract gel has the effectiveness of increasing the color change of premolars to become whiter
