    Abstract
Gingivitis is an early stage of gum disease, an inflammation of the gingiva characterized by swelling and redness of the gingiva, involving the tissue supporting the teeth, which is caused by several factors, one of which is the bacteria Porphyromonas gingivalis. The main treatment for gingivitis is scaling and root planning, and drug therapy is needed to speed up the healing of gingivitis. The drug commonly used is Gengigel. As an alternative, a gel is made with Chinese petai leaf extract (Leucaena glauca, Benth), which contains flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and saponins. The research aimed to determine the significant inhibitory power, Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC), and Minimum Bactericidal killing Concentration (MBC) Porphyromonas gingivalis ATCCÒ33277Ô. The method used is laboratory experimental with design posttest only control group design with treatment groups of 6%, 15% Chinese petai leaf extract gel, Gengigel, and distilled water. Determination of inhibitory power uses the disc diffusion method, while MIC and MBC use the dilution method. Data analysis using one-way ANOVA and post hoc (LSD). The results showed that the inhibitory power of 6% and 15% petai cina leaf extract gel was 11.59 mm ± 0.777 and 14.33 mm ± 0.942, the MIC could not be determined, and the MBC was a concentration of 6%. It can be concluded that the Chinese petai leaf extract gel is effective in inhibiting and bactericidal growth of Porphyromonas gingivalis ATCCÒ33277Ô
