Abstract

More and more technology and sophisticated computer systems are needed in all fields, for example, for individuals, private corporations, and government agencies. The development of human technology is spoiled by its increasingly rapid development. This development provides many conveniences for humans to communicate without space barriers. This research was conducted to see how the North Sumatra Provincial Transportation Office utilizes existing information technology. This study aims to determine the use of information technology carried out by the Department of Transportation of North Sumatra Province. The sample in this study was made up of employees who worked at the Department of Transportation of North Sumatra Province. The type of data source used is primary data obtained from the field in the form of observations and questionnaires. The results of the research that has been carried out show that information technology in the Department of Transportation of North Sumatra Province has been utilized properly. It can be seen from the assessments of most of the employees of the Department of Transportation of North Sumatra Province that the information technology equipment used is able to make employees feel helped, feel light at work, and help in solving problems. In addition, all tasks assigned to employees at the Transportation Agency are completed effectively and efficiently, and employees have good attendance, discipline, and responsibility in carrying out tasks by utilizing existing information technology at the agency.
