    Abstract
Background. Scabies, also known as "kudis," is caused by the Sarcoptes scabiei var. Hominis mite, leading to intense itching of the skin. Despite the World Health Organization (WHO) recognizing scabies as a global health issue, particularly in developing countries, swift intervention is needed to prevent outbreaks and adverse health impacts. The global prevalence reaches 200 million people, with high vulnerability among children and the elderly in resource-limited areas. Spread factors involve close contact, socio-economic conditions, personal hygiene, and environmental sanitation. The study at Pesantren Darularafah Raya aims to examine the relationship between scabies, personal hygiene, sanitation, and knowledge, providing guidance for understanding, prevention, and management in this crowded environment. Objective. To analyze the relationship between personal hygiene, environmental sanitation, and knowledge with the occurrence of scabies at Pesantren Darularafah Raya. Methods. This research is an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional approach. The population includes male students at Pesantren Darularafah Raya, with a sample of 126 respondents. Total sampling is employed as the sampling technique. The assessment of personal hygiene, environmental sanitation, and scabies incidence is done through a questionnaire. Univariate and bivariate analysis with chi-square is used for the analysis. Results. The study involves 126 respondents, with 98 individuals affected by scabies exhibiting predominantly poor personal hygiene, environmental sanitation, and knowledge. The analysis results indicate no significant relationship between personal hygiene and knowledge levels with scabies occurrence, but there is a connection between environmental sanitation and scabies incidence. Conclusion. There is a relationship between environmental sanitation and scabies occurrence among male students at Pesantren Darularafah Raya (p<0,05).
