Efek Ekstrak Etanol Daun Sikkam (Bischofia javanica) terhadap Profil Lipid, Histologi Aorta, dan Ginjal Tikus Putih Jantan Model Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract

Metabolic disorders due to diabetes mellitus can cause several chronic complications that can lead to several complications, especially abnormalities in the lipid profile of the blood. Lipid profile abnormalities due to diabetes mellitus are one of the highest causes of mortality in people with diabetes mellitus. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of ethanol extract of sikkam leaf (Bischofia javanica) on the lipid profile of male white rats model of diabetes mellitus. This research is an experimental research. The design used was a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design. The sample used was 30 wistar rats which were divided into 6 treatment groups and 6 replications. Data analysis was performed by One-way ANOVA followed by BNT test using SPSS 2.2 application at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that there was an effect of ethanolic extract of sikkam leaves on decreasing total cholesterol, LDL, triglyceride levels and increasing HDL levels in male white rats and improving histology of the aorta and kidneys of male rats with diabetes mellitus model. The ethanol extract of sikkam leaf which has the best effect is at a dose of 900 mg/kg BW.
