dc.description.abstractThis research was carried out by utilizing plastic waste of the type Polystyrene (PS), High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and low density polyethylene (LDPE) for mixing asphalt. The first thing to do is purify plastic waste such as polystyrene (PS), high density polyethylene (HDPE) and low density polyethylene (LDPE), by dissolving the waste with methanol. Followed by the grafting process of each type of polystyrene (PS), High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and low density polyethylene (LDPE) plastic, grated with Glacidyl Methacrylate (GMA) and also adding the initiator Benzoyl Peroxide (BPO) to the process. This grafting is carried out using the internal mixer method. From the grafting results of each HDPE -g-GMA mixture; LDPE-g-GMA; PS-g-GMA obtained was subjected to FTIR, Degree of Grafting and DSC characterization. And for mixing plastic waste that has been grafted, it is mixed with asphalt and also aggregate which serves to see the effect of differences in plastic waste levels of 10% ; 15% ; 20% ; 25% used, and for the process of mixing plastic waste with asphalt can be carried out. using the Marshallen_US
