Perempuan-Perempuan Pengguna Angkutan Umum di Perkotaan (ANGKOT) di Kota Medan: Resistensi Ditengah-Tengah Keberadaan Bus Trans Metro Deli di Kota Medan

Abstract

Using public transportation is not the right choice. Because women are often victims of violence and public transport crimes. Safety, reliability and comfort are the three most important things in transportation. But public transportation still does not pay attention to these three aspects. In 2020, the Medan government presents the Trans Metro Deli city bus which pays attention to the above aspects. But from the observation that is seen, especially in the city of Medan, there are still many women who choose angkot than the Trans Metro Deli bus in Medan as a means of Transportation. This study aims to see why women persist in using public transportation by resisting the presence of the Trans Metro Deli city bus. The research method used is qualitative. Data collection techniques used in this study is the interview. The results of the interview data that have been conducted are that women still survive using public transportation because angkot has affordable fares, has many travel lanes, ease of access without having to wait, because the distance to the location of the house is far away. close to the terminal location, has a flexible time, fast public transport fleet and can stop directly anywhere. The resistance of female passengers as public transport users to the Trans Metro Deli city bus is due to using stops, using non-cash payments and more lonely passengers. Also the distance to the stop is too close and use the air conditioner as an air conditioner.
