The Composite of Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer alloy with Natural
Rubber (EPDM I NR) which is then added duck egg shell powder as a filler material
which is applied as a four-wheeled vehicle door impact absorber. The natural rubber
used is natural rubber SIR-20. EPDM synthetic rubber and SIR-20 natural rubber are
vulcanized by adding stearic acid, ZnO, METS, Sulfur and duck egg shell powder
fillers using reflux at 150°C then pressed with a hot press at 140°C to produce alloys
which are then tested for tensile strength with tensile strength yield values of 2. 06
MPa, strain 327.06%, and an MoE value of0.629 MPa at a variation of20:80:40 phr
duck eggshell powder. Furthermore, EPDMINR alloy : eggshell powder formed is
characterized by impact strength tests, FTIR, SEM, and DSC The results showed that
the EPDMINR alloy : duck eggshell powder was carried out with an impact test
obtained the highest results in the addition of40 phr duck eggshell powder, which was
11. 548 J I m2. The results of morphological analysis with SEM show that the mixture
in the resulting alloy appears homogeneous. And the DSC results show that the alloy
undergoes a glass transition (tg) temperature at 466.2°C which is an exothermic peak.
