Research on composites from the EPDMINR SJR-20 alloy with the addition of blood cockle shell powder as a filler material which is applied as a vehicle door impact absorber (weather strip). Making weather strips is done by mixing SIR-20 natural rubber with vulcanized EPDM synthetic rubber by adding stearic acid, ZnO. METS, su!fur and varying blood cockle shell powder .filler with a ratio of 10 phr; 20 phr; 30 phr; 40 phr and 50 phr. Then it is pressed using a hot press at a temperature of I 25°C to produce a composite which is then subjected to tensile and impact tests. From the tensile strength test results, the best ratio was obtained for 40 phr filler with a tensile strength value of 1.0183 MPa. The best impact test at a ratio of 40 phr is 13,200 J/m2. EPDMINR SIR-20 specimens with optimum filler were subjected to FTIR, DSC and SEM analysis tests. The results of FTIR analysis show that there is no sign[f,cant change between EPDM, NR SIR-20 and the composite with optimum filler, there is only a sh[fi in the wave number in several new abs01ption functional groups found in the composite sample with the addition of optimum clam shell powder at a wavelength of I 080 cm·1 which is the bending vibration of the C-O group and at a wave number of 656 cm·1 C-S bending which is a disu(fi.de bond indicates that vulcanization has occurred by sulfur on EPDM synthetic rubber to form vulcanized rubber. The thermogram results from thermal analysis using DSC produced glass transition temperature (Tg) values for NR SIR-20, EPDM and composite, namely -63°C, -37°C and 446.9°C, which indicates that partial mixing has occurred in the resulting composite. The SEM results obtained show that there is agglomeration on the swface due to the filler particle size being less than small so that there are cavities on the composite surface.en_US
