dc.description.abstract | Research has been carried out on the measurement of radiation exposure rate and effectiveness of radiation shielding in the CT - Scan room using a Babyline Surveymeter. It aims to determine the radiation exposure rate generated from the CT - Scan equipment and to find out the factors that affect the radiation exposure rate and also to determine the effectiveness of radiation shielding in Dr. Pirngadi General Hospital Medan. Measurement of the rate of radiation exposure is carried out by survey, measurement and documentation methods. Radiation exposure rate measurements were carried out in the operator room, machine room, entrance of operator room, corridor, and SIRS (Hospital Information System) room. Measurement of the exposure rate is measured when exposure passed through radiation shielding while measurement of effectiveness is measured when before and after passing through radiation shielding. The radiation exposure in the operator room is 0.00378 mSv/year; in the machine room is 0.002592 mSv/year; at the entrance of the operator room is 0.00378 mSv/year; in the corridor is 0.004428 mSv/year; in the SIRS (Hospital Information System) room is 0.000864 mSv/year. The results showed that the radiation exposure rate in the CT – Scan room at Dr. Pirngadi General Hospital Medan was below the Dose Limit Value of BAPETEN regulation No. 8 of 2011. The effectiveness measurement in the operator room is 95,89%; in the machine room is 75%; at the entrance of the operator room is 98,59%; in the corridor is 67,77%; and in the SIRS room is 94,12%. | en_US |
