Toponimi Desa-Desa di Sekitar Geosite Situmurun Kecamatan Lumban Julu : Kajian Antropolinguistik

Abstract

This thesis is entitled, "Toponymy of Villages Around the Situmurun Geosite, Lumban Julu District: Anthropolinguistic Study". Etymologically, toponymy comes from the Greek topoi 'place' and onoma 'name', so toponymy literally means the names of places. Toponymy is a knowledge that discusses the origins of the naming of a place. Anthropolinguistics is a science that studies the use of language which influences customs, customs, ethics and kinship systems. The aim of this thesis is to describe the toponymic names of villages around the Situmurun Geosite, Lumban Julu District based on aspects of their naming. Describe the linguistic formation of place names around the Situmurun Geosite, Lumban Julu District. Describe the people's discourse regarding toponymy around the Situmurun Geosite, Lumban Julu District. The theory used in this thesis is Robert Sibarani's anthropolinguistic theory. The results obtained in this thesis are that there are names of places or villages based on the naming aspect, namely in the embodiment aspect there are 64 names of places or villages, in the social aspect there are 20 names of places or villages and in the cultural aspect there are 2 names of places or villages. In the linguistic formation of place or village names, it was found that several place or village names underwent a morphological process, namely there was an affixation process such as the prefix /mar-/ and /ma-/, the confix /par-an/, /ha-an/, and the insert or infix /-um/, there are also several place names or toponymies which are lexicons, phrases and compound words and there is folk discourse regarding the naming of places or toponymies of villages around the Situmurun Geosite.
