This research was about analyzing the speech act and local wisdom in the Japanese movies, Peach Girl and Miseinen Dakedo Kodomo Janai. The research problems were as follows: (1) how about the function and meaning of illocution speech act in in the two movies, (2) how about the similarity and difference between the two movies, and (3) how about the local wisdom found in the two movies. The objective of the research was to describe the function and meaning of illocution speech act and local wisdom found in in the two movies. The research used the theory of the speech act of Searle and Yule. It also used descriptive qualitative method, followed by using listening and recording techniques. The result of finding showed that there were five assertive functions of meaning: declarative function had two meanings, directive function had 11 meanings, expressive function had 4 meanings, and commissive function had 4 meanings. It was also found that there were 12 similar meanings and 14 different meanings in the two movies. There were also local wisdom about yuuki (courage), jin (goodness) , rei (respect), makoto (honesty), and meiyo (honor).
