dc.description.abstract | Research on the mechanical, morphological and thermal characteristics of High
Density Polyethylene/Natural Rubber/PP-g-MA with natural bentonite filler has
been carried out. The HDPEIKA/PP-g-MA mixture was blended using a BATAGU
PAK 150 extruder then mixed with bentonite variations at 10 php, 20 php, 30 php, 40
php, and 50 php. Next, the mixture is hot pressed according to ASTM D638 at a
temperature of 1700C. The prepared composite samples were molded according to
ASTM D638 type V for tensile strength analysis at a speed of 500 mm/min. Thermal
analysis with TGA using an initial temperature of 30°C-6000C with a heating rate of
JOOC/minute. Morphological analysis with SEM uses fracture samples from tensile
strength analysis with a size of lxl mm. The results of the analysis of the mechanical
properties of HDPE/KAIPP-g-MA with optimum bentonite filler have a tensile
strength value of 17,888 MPa, an elongation value of 52,5%, and an elastic modulus
value of 270,81 MPa. The results of the thermal properties analysis show
decomposition of one stage of mass loss. Occurred at a temperature of 536.36°C with
a total mass loss of 60.4%. The results of the morphological analysis of
HDPE/KA/PP-g-AM with bentonite filler have a smooth and homogeneous mixture,
although there are still small voids marked by cavities left during the tensile test and
there are also voids in the fractures of the composite samples. | en_US |
