    Abstract
    Bay leaf (Syzygium polyanthum) which is known to be rich in secondary metabolite compounds is known to have benefits for wound healing. Bay leaves that have been mashed are extracted with ethanol solvent until the results of concentrated bay leaf extract are found with a percentage of 36. 98%. The concentrated extract obtained is formulated into several variations in concentration, namely 5%, 10% and 15%. Furthermore, pH testing was carried out and found an average pH of 5. 75 which corresponds to the skin's pH range of 4.5-6.5. The homogeneity test shows that the entire gel preparation tested is homogeneous. In the viscosity test, the average viscosity value was 2750 cps. The gel preparation was tested on Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, where the best test results were obtained at a concentration of 15% of 15.02 mm and of Pseudomonas aueruginosa bacteria of 16.63 mm. The results of the incision wound test on white rats showed the best results on the 15% formulation gel preparation with the final result on the 10th day which was 0.5 cm.
