Abstract

This research discusses the role of musicians and church management in presenting Sunday services at five Protestant churches in Medan City. The research focuses on the role of musicians and church management in the presentation of Sunday services. The role referred to in the research is the role of a musician as an accompanist for the presentation of Sunday worship music, then the stages before becoming a church minister. Furthermore, church management referred to in this research is how the church system prepares the presentation of musical accompaniment in the context of Sunday worship, both from recruiting musicians, facilities and infrastructure supporting Sunday worship. The aim of this research is to determine the role of musicians and church management in presenting Sunday services at five Protestant churches in the city of Medan. Research was conducted at GBI Rumah Persembahan, GKPI Pamen church, HKBP Sudirman church, GBI Pelita IV church, HKBP Pardamean church. The research carried out was qualitative research with a descriptive approach using observation, interviews, documentation and literature study methods.
