Abstract

Classical vocals are a type of music that has still existed for hundreds of years. The presence of music course institutions, especially in the city of Medan, plays an important role in forming skilled enthusiasts in the field of classical vocals. The use of SWOT analysis can help to identify internal (strengths and weaknesses) and external factors (opportunities and threats) that will influence music course institutions so as to provide a deep understanding of the state of classical vocal learning strategies so that classical vocal enthusiasts are still in demand and remain in vocal classes. the classic. The formulation of the problem in this research is: 1) what is the form of classical vocal learning at music course institutions in Medan City. 2) what are the classical vocal learning strategies at music course institutions in Medan City. 3) what is the classical vocal learning program at music course institutions in Medan City? The data collection techniques used in the research were observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research show that the SWOT analysis strategy planning process is able to play an important role in encouraging enthusiasts to take an interest in and persist in classical vocal courses, so that this can also preserve the cultural heritage of classical music and keep classical vocals to continue to exist in the modern era which continues to develop.
