| dc.description.abstract | This research is a descriptive quantitative research that aims to describe the perceptions of early adult homosexuals who are coming out towards peer support. The participants of this study involved 73 people who had a tendency to be attracted to the same sex and were between 18-40 years old. Sampling was carried out using a non-probability technique with a convenience sampling method. The data collecting method uses the adaptation scale of the Social Provisions Scale (Cutrona and Russell, 1987) and analyzed by a descriptive statistical analysis method. The results showed that 51 subjects (69.9%) had perceptions of peer support that tended high, 16 people (21.9%) had perceptions that tended moderate, and 6 people (8.2%) had perceptions that tended low. The test results show that early adult homosexuals' perceptions of peer support is in the high category. There are six dimensions that measure homosexuals' perceptions of peer support, including, Attachment, Social Integration, Guidance, Reliable Alliance, Reassurance of Worth, and Opportunity for Nurturance. The results of the research are expected to describe peer support for homosexuals who are feeling anxious and afraid of other people's opinions about their sexual orientation. | en_US |
