This research aims to determine the description of attitudes towards
plagiarism among students at the Immanuel Technical College (STTI) Medan using
descriptive quantitative research methods. The definition of plagiarism itself is the
act of quoting sentences or words, ideas, views or theories, using facts in the form
of data and information from other people without providing quotation marks and
stating the identity of the source. Meanwhile, the meaning of attitude is also defined
as a mental mechanism that evaluates, forms views, colors feelings, and helps
determine a person's behavioral tendencies towards something (Azwar, 2022). The
aim of this research is to find out the attitudes towards plagiarism among students
at the Immanuel Medan College of Engineering by conducting research with a
sample of 88 people using total sampling. The measuring tool used is an attitude
scale towards plagiarism based on the attitude components by Azwar (20222),
namely cognitive, affective and conative. The data analysis method used is
descriptive statistical analysis method. The results of this study showed that as
many as 47 people (53.4%) had a positive attitude towards plagiarism and as many
as 41 people (46.5%) had a negative attitude towards plagiarism.
