    Abstract
Correctional children or usually abbreviated as Andikpas are children who serving their criminal term through training and education at the Special Children’s Development Institute (LPKA). The changes in life and rules that Andikpas must live by while living at LPKA can cause psychological problems such as future anxiety. Efforts that can reduce anxiety in the future include using self-help group. This research aims to see the effect of self-help group on reducing future anxiety in correctional childrens at the Special Children's Development Institute (LPKA). This research used a quasi-experimental quantitative approach that provided self-help group treatment with a duration of 60 minutes for 5 consecutive days. The participants in this research were Andikpas who had moderate to high future anxiety scores, totaling 10 people who were randomly selected and then randomized into the control group and the experimental group. This research was analyzed using the Mann U Whitney test, which the results of the analysis showing there were no differences between the control and experimental groups. There is no statistical difference indicating that there is no influence of self-help group on future anxiety (p value 0.287 > 0.05). However, the results of the N-gain score test show that the effectiveness of providing self-help group is in the medium category and the percentage of 73.58% is interpreted as quite effective. There was a decrease in scores and levels of future anxiety in Andikpas, but this decrease was not statistically different.
