This study aims to discover the effect of leader member exchange towards the level of employee engagement on PT Perkebunan Nusantara III Medan. This study utilized quantitative research methods with primary data sourced and sampled with non probability sampling technique. The samples used in this study are 251 directory office employees of PT Perkebunan Nusantara III Medan. The method used to gather up data is both of the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) and Leader Member Exchange Multidimensionality Measure (LMX-MDM). The analysis method used in this study is simple linear regression analysis method. The result of this study shows that leader member exchange significantly affects employee engagement of PT Perkebunan Nusantara III Medan’s employees with overall effect of 22,6% (R2 = 0,226, 95% CI) with the rest of 77,4% influence explained as the effect of other variables unspecified in this research. This research is expected to be useful for companies and also show an overview of the influence of leader member exchange on employee engagement
